It's a witty worthwhile read for sure! If you are a geeky guy or a girl wanting to understand her game obsessed boyfriend or guy friends this is a book to read.

I am not to sure on any valuable lessons from this book but it did have clever moments. The Pie Scale is something girls can learn from for any situation with guys.

One person found this helpful. I bought this book as a gift for my girlfriend with the prior knowledge that I would fit into several of the pigeon holes this book defined as geek. It was soon discovered, however, that this book is a hilariously comprehensive look at what it means to be a geek, and why that's a good thing. Beginning with a Geek Test, this guide helps an inquisitive woman determine if she is dating a geek. Make no mistake though, I'm not a nerd.

Inouye makes it very clear; geeks are cooler than nerds since nerds are "socially unacceptable in all circumstances. It's the classic woman goal of a fixer-upper. Why women want to do this is anyone's guess, but for the most part they end up attempting to emasculate rather than groom.

Then, she has a point, but it only goes so far. Written in a language that requires very little geekiness to understand, it's a perfect nightstand book for any woman wanting to keep daily tabs on her man's geek level. It's geekiness for the laywoman. With flow charts, organizational charts, molecule diagrams, and even circuit diagrams - that I appreciated immensely - it's quintessential geek.

As a hybrid Jock Geek and Know it all Geek, I feel comfortable in recommending this book for anyone who wants to really know the truth about geekdom. My boyfriend bought this for me from ThinkGeek after many dropped hints. I honestly could have lived without reading it. Inouye claims that she is "geekier" than other girls, but for some reason this book is FULL of grammatical errors and typos.

That drives me insane. I know not everyone can spell, but for goodness sake, everyone can proofread, or get someone else to do it for them!

Secondly, the bulk of this book is She completely debases people she considers "nerds," only slightly exulting geeks above their low station in life.

She talks about how if you date a geek, and go to a geek convention, you should find a hot "booth babe" and commence mocking all the geeks. And she is constantly referring to geeky guys as "ugly. There's no picture of her in her bio I wonder what SHE looks like. There are also a few chapters on how to "normalize" a geek. That seemed kind of pointless In short, this book could have been WAY better.

As someone who has been dating a geek for the last five years, I have often read how-to articles and so forth online that are similar to the idea of this book -- good-naturedly teasing geeky guys and giving women tips for living with them. Those are far more entertaining than a book that is basically one long insult. The plot and the denouement are satisfying in Girl's Guide, but what I really loved was the light satirical touches all the way through.

It just goes to prove that with the right drug regiment, there's no reason why a zombie can't be the perfect life partner," I continue. Baltimore Colts and be happy, 24 hours a day. When Hattie tells her new zombie date a little about her job, her apartment, and her family, "he listens and grunts appropriately, not saying much, which is no surprise.

Most zombies are the strong, silent type. This book was hilarious "a scream" all the way through. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. It's a rare thing when you find a book that is so witty, so charming and so incredibly funny that you dare not drink and read at the same time, for fear of spewing all over your brand new kindle. The Girls' Guide to Dating Zombies is one such book.

Half is written like a self-help brochure, designed to guide romantically-minded but clueless women toward making a factually informed decision on navigating the perils of dating the zombified. As everyone knows, it's far better to be in a committed relationship than to be caught single, even in an world where The other half follows the story of Hattie, a wanna-be journalist who is striving to negotiate the day-to-day pitfalls of juggling a career, friendships, and of course relationships with men--both zombified and not.

The writing is stellar, the story incredibly witty and fall off your chair funny, and the romance unexpectedly heartwarming and sweet. The Girls' Guide to Dating Zombies is a Grade-A keeper, and proof that the best romances can often be found in the most unlikely of books.

One person found this helpful. This story had a very amusing tone throughout, but also affected me emotionally, which demonstrates this author's prowess. Upon hindsight this is actually a pretty complex story about a dystopia. When Hattie describes her recollection of her Father, I cried.

The waves of giddy happiness. And after the trauma of a zombie attack, the way Hattie sees Joe, whereas before he was benign. And falling in love with Jake. Most impressive was the bold descriptions of the science. I really enjoyed that it wasn't watered down, was seamless with the story, and I suspect the author did very good research on viruses and DNA, or is very talented at science gobbledygook.

This was a really smart book, and very romantic, and exciting. I am very impressed with the inclusion of intercourse, with the zombie and with a man, I detest other stories that are so descriptive about sandwiches, and treat sex as a blink of the eye. The sex was beautiful, respectful, seamless. Perfection, even with this nitpick: This book, this author should win awards. Because of the complex themes, and the futuristic dystopian society, this seems a story like Brave New World, or But don't that that turn you away!

This story was FUN. A very unique take on the zombie apocalypse. The funniest zombie novel I have ever read. The romance part of the story is not too strong for some one not interested in romance novels.

A great read if you are in the mood for something very funny. If you are looking for an angst ridden story full of unbridled passion look someplace else.

Her practical how-to impresses the CEO of the largest drug company in the world, and before she knows it, Hattie, a reporter for a downmarket tabloid that specializes in conspiracy theories, is sitting down with the woman who single-handedly invented the zombie-behavioral-modification market. I'm a geek and I bought this for my girlfriend who found it hilarious as well as being a little truthful.
