Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced that Francis Lui Yiu Tung has been appointed as the new chairman of the board on December 13.
Francis Lui, the eldest son of Galaxy Entertainment Group’s founder and former chair Lui Che Woo, who passed away on November 7 at the age of 95, has been appointed as chairman effective immediately.
In a December 14 retrospective, Macau Business highlighted Lui Che Woo’s pivotal role in transforming Cotai into a hub for gaming and hospitality. GEG operates Galaxy Macau and Broadway Macau in Cotai, along with StarWorld Macau on the peninsula.
Galaxy Macau, the world’s fifth-largest casino, features a 37,000sqm gaming floor, numerous dining options, and the 14,000-seat Galaxy Arena.
Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) claims the largest development pipeline among Macau’s casino operators. The HK$5.1 billion Phase 4 expansion of Galaxy Macau will introduce six new hotels and a 4,000-seat theatre. Once completed in 2027, it will expand GEG’s Cotai presence to over two million square metres.
This year, Galaxy Macau received the title of “Best Integrated Resort in Asia Pacific” at the Travel Leisure Luxury Awards.
