The Steam Spring Sale 2024 began last night, and while it isnāt as big of a deal as say the Steam Winter Sale, you may as well take advantage of it to save money on some games you were planning to buy. I obviously recommend checking out your own Steam Wishlist to see what youāre interested in when it comes to discounts, but Iāve put together a list of my picks for the 10 best Steam Deck Spring Sale 2024 game discounts across a few genres including new and old games. You might notice some games Iāve featured before in Steam Deck deal lists, but they are either at lower prices now, or just plain awesome and worth highlighting again. This list is in no particular order.
Whatās that? My current Game of the Year 2024 is 20% off already? It is worth more than full price, but youāre here for deals, so take advantage of this sale and grab one of the best Sega games ever for less. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio at its peak. It is fresh with its new setting and manages to not only be a great experience for those who got into the series a few years ago, but also reward those who have been there from the start with its story beats. This is one of the best turn-based RPGs out there, and it has more awesome mini-games than most games with sublime music.
Ok, this one is cheating since it is a bundle of three games, but I forced Shaun to grab it, and Iām going to ask you to consider doing the same. Having Amid Evil, DUSK, and Ultrakill (early access but awesome) together in a discounted bundle is hard to pass up. They all have sublime gameplay, superb music, and feel great on Steam Deck. Ultrakill is a bit harder to play on a controller, but I managed to get used to it rather quickly. Amid Evil and Dusk feel perfect on it though. If you do grab this, consider the Black Labyrinth expansion for Amid Evil as well. It is worth it.
While everyone is playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5 (not available yet on PC), there has never been a better time to try out the first entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy project with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Steam Deck. It looks superb on the Steam Deck OLED with HDR support, and is a joy to play handheld. If you love the Final Fantasy VII world and characters, this is essential. If you havenāt played Final Fantasy VII yet, do that, and then buy this.
With Monster Hunter Wilds set for release next year, now is the perfect time to return to World (with Iceborne), the best Monster Hunter game alongside Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This discount includes the base game and the superlative expansion together, and the game has been seeing an online resurgence on PC recently. If youāre new to the genre, thereās no better way to jump in, and the discount price makes it an even better deal than before. If youād rather try out another game in the series, Monster Hunter Sunbreak is also discounted, but Iād recommend Iceborne first.
Cyberpunk 2077 launched in a rough state on pretty much every platform, but it has since been fixed and enhanced quite a bit. Seeing a game like this run and look as well as it does with HDR on Steam Deck OLED is incredible, and it is one of those next generation feeling experiences on a handheld. The Phantom Liberty expansion is icing on the cake with its narrative, music, and quests. If you held off on the game or own it on console, cross save and this discount make it worth your time and money on Steam Deck.
Persona 5 Royal has always been an essential JRPG, but having a superb portable version with no compromises in performance or visuals really lets the games aesthetic shine throughout. It is chock full of quality content and includes all prior paid and free DLC from the get go. While Persona 3 Reload, the remake of Persona 3 might be better in its gameplay, P5R is worth grabbing and experiencing. Iāve played Persona 5 through its base release on PS4, then Persona 5 Royal on PS4, then Persona 5 Royal on Steam Deck and Switch. I love the game and I canāt recommend it enough.
Dave the Diver is an amazing game that Iāve enjoyed playing on both Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck. Revisiting it on the Steam Deck OLED has been even better. Iām shocked at how well it keeps up its pace of unlocks and new missions throughout the surprisingly long runtime, and I hope the new content coming to the Switch version as a collaboration with Guilty Gear Strive hits Steam as well. It plays perfectly on Steam Deck OLED and it is well worth your time and money.
Iāve written about how awesome Diablo IV is on Steam Deck a few times now, and it remains a joy to play on the Steam Deck OLED with HDR support and more. The only caveat is that Diablo IV is an online-only game so keep that in mind if you want to play on the go outside your house. I tether my Steam Deck OLED to my phone to play Diablo IV when needed, but it isnāt an ideal experience. Iāve always thought the campaign was worth it, and it is cheaper than ever before in this sale. Diablo IV also has full cross play and cross progression so you can even treat this like a way to play on the go while you play on your TV via console at home like I do on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Street Fighter 6, our pick for the Steam Deck Game of the Year 2023, is discounted again in the Steam Spring Sale 2024, and another Steam Deck feature means another reminder for you to try the best current fighting game. Thereās a demo if you arenāt sure how it will feel on Steam Deck as well. Street Fighter 6 is Capcomās best fighting game since Third Strike, and a superlative package overall for online, offline, and singleplayer content.
I havenāt forgotten about the iPad port, but No Manās Sky on PC and consoles continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. I own and play it on every platform, but the Steam Deck version has always felt the best. It has gotten even better with recent updates, and it looks stunning on the Steam Deck OLED. I considered it worth playing from day one, but the team keeps overdelivering with each update, and you should grab it if you havenāt already gotten it on PC.
Look, 10% off is basically nothing when it comes to discounts, but I figured Iād use this section to just highlight Baldurās Gate 3 if youāve not gotten it yet. While Act III isnāt perfect on Steam Deck or even PS5 and Xbox Series X, it is a small price to pay for one of the most incredible games ever. Iāve been continuing two different playthroughs recently and having full cross save across PS5, Steam Deck, and Xbox Series X is amazing. I canāt wait to finish both of these new ones soon. 10% off isnāt much, I know. But if you donāt own the game yet, you may as well at least save something when you buy it.
As usual, you can read all our past and future Steam Deck coverage here. If you have any feedback for this feature or what else youād like to see us do around the Steam Deck, let us know in the comments below. I hope you all have a great day, and thanks for reading.
