The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) reported that the state’s casinos brought in $1.28 million in October, a 2.19% decrease from October 2023. The state collected $79.6 million in fees based on taxable income, a 4.24% decrease.
The Las Vegas Strip brought in $692 million, a 3.12% decrease from last year. Clark County, which includes the Strip, Downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip, and surrounding areas, brought in $1.11 billion, a 2.15% decrease.
Washoe County, which includes casinos in Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe, reported $91.2 million, a 4.87% decrease. Elko County reported $31.7 million, a 6.4% decrease.
The Nevada Gaming Commission is set to decide in December whether to allow the use of betting accounts for non-gaming purchases at casinos, such as food, retail items and other expenses.
The accounts are currently limited to gaming transactions, but operators and the Nevada Gaming Control Board have recommended the change as a step toward modernizing the state’s gambling regulations.
