November followed with $638.7 million in bets, which included $19 million in promotional play. In March, $456.7 million came from real-money bets, with $202.6 million in promotional wagers.
Operators recorded a record revenue of $78.1 million in November, as it is reported on December 9 by the North Carolina State Lottery Commission. The previous highest gross gaming revenue was $70.1 million in September.
Over nine months, North Carolina’s sports betting market recorded $4.4 billion in wagers, out of which $434.3 million was attributed to promotional offers. Promotional activity, highest in March, decreased to under $37 million monthly since June.
Operators in North Carolina contributed $14.1 million in taxes for the month, based on an 18% tax rate on gross gaming revenue. The state’s betting market has shown strong performance compared to similarly sized markets.
