The world that we live in today is unthinkable without the support of computers and by extension the knowledge and dedication of those who know how to code on those computers. Every programmer out there has a big responsibility on their shoulders to be a part of helping keep society running. On the one hand, it's nice to have that sense of purpose. On the other, it can be a lot of pressure (and also, things don't always seem as obvious as that).
This is all the more reason to enjoy the decompression that comes from programming memes. They can't magically fix that piece of code that refuses to work, but they do understand the frustration of working with it. They also make the whole experience more enjoyable, or at least sympathetic. Sometimes, that is the best that can be hoped for in the unforgiving land of figuring out programming languages.
