Spider-Man 2 is officially swinging to PC on January 30, 2025, making it the latest PlayStation exclusive to make its way to Steam and Epic Games Store. Nixxes Software, which worked on porting the two previous Spider-Man games, will once again handle development.
Announced during NYCC 2025, Insomniac's sequel rounds out the series on Steam, joining Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the platform. It's part of a broader push by PlayStation that has seen God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and other PS5 releases make their way to Steam.
Notably, Insomniac appeared to end hopes for its long-rumored Venom DLC by announcing that the studio has "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2," seemingly ending speculation dating back to last year.
Spider-Man 2 picks up the story after Miles Morales while introducing Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and other familiar villains. We wrote that the sequel is "both blessed and cursed" in our review while saying that it "refines a successful formula of combat and web-swinging without revolutionizing either in major ways, making them comfy and familiar with just enough new tweaks and abilities to elevate them to fun new heights."
PlayStation's PC releases have been equally blessed and cursed, with fans complaining about their controversial PlayStation Network account requirements. God of War Ragnarök was the latest PC release to launch to mixed reviews over the feature.
“Bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to a new audience on PC together with Insomniac and Marvel Games has been a great experience for us at Nixxes,” says Nixxes Community Manager Julian Huijbregts. “We are excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhanced features, including enhanced ray-tracing options, to take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specs closer to launch.”
Insomniac revealed the news during NYCC 2024, which runs throughout the weekend. Elsewhere, Wizards of the Coast took the wraps off its big Magic: The Gathering collab with Marvel, while Blumhouse revealed the first trailer for Wolf Man.
When Spider-Man 2 is eventually released on PC, we'll have plenty of guides to help you get through Insomniac's adventure, including a complete walkthrough and a guide to all of Spider-Man 2's suits.
